(12 JULY 2020)
Got a hole in one (see video)! On our 17th hole, par 3, in competition. Accompanied by long-suffering (πππ€) playing partners Glenn Gyi, Phillip Lodge and Lincoln Hughes. A sweetly struck 6 iron, called as a hole in one immediately (but then I call any straight shot on a par 3 as such! π), followed by ‘please go in I want a new watch’. It soared majestically through the air for about 150-odd yards, pitched a little further on (left middle) and rolled nicely up to the flag at the back and in. The next comment, after a roar of joy that woke the dead and put those on the 16th off their strokes, and expletives, was ‘wait, do I get double in the twos sweep’ then ‘why didn’t I do that yesterday?’ (Captain’s Day – Β£1,500 on offer π€―). Glenn et all were willing it in too and were almost as pleased as I was. Thank you gents as one of my fears was that I’d get my first one whilst playing alone.
And have completed 250 rounds. Not long to go.
